JOHANNAPICTURES

I took more professional approach towards photography when me and my husband started to write a lifestyle blog under Image magazine. You can call it teamwork where my responsibility was to think visual aspects. It was a great experience and I was grateful for getting such good feedback of the content we created for one of the most exciting magazines in Finland.

 

Those exciting times also gave the name for my photographic activities as I got married in 2014. I had to think my Instagram nick again because I'd taken my husband's name Sorsa. Sorsa means "Mallard" in English. I wasn't quite ready for wild life photography yet so on that moment Johannapictures was born!

Since childhood I've always been full of energy and curiosity. I started to write my own story via camera very early. Adulthood came with its pros and cons but the most significant discovery was that I really want to be a photographer. As I mentioned above my career kicked off as content creator for Image. I started expanding the scenes to my friends' family pictures, pregnancy pictures and newborn pictures. Today, I take versatile approach to all the challenges of photography from fashion and food to different products, places and faces. My preference is to shoot in natural light.

As a worker my strengths are in commercial material. I appreciate sparkling beauty but I'm keen on finding genuine and natural look out of everything I shoot. Most importantly, I want to find right touchpoints that make my target's very core and soul visible.
